THE NEW HOUSING DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL BE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET WILL HOLD 84 UNITS AND OUT OF THAT, MORE THAN 20 OF THEM WILL BE AFFORDABLE.>>ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER NEW HOUSING PROJECT BEING STARTED HERE IN THE CITY OF DETROIT.>>Reporter: THE MAYOR AND THE SUGAR HILL HISTORIC DISTRICT ARE GEARING UP FOR A $32 MILLION HOUSING PROJECT.>>OH, WOW, THAT LOOKS VERY NICE.>>Reporter: THIS WOMAN WAS EXCITED TO HEAR THAT 25% OF THE UNITS WILL BE SET ASIDE FOR THOSE MAKING 50% TO 80% OF THE MEDIAN INCOME, SOMETHING SHE CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF.>>IT’S VERY NICE THAT THEY CONSIDERED THE FACT THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO CAN’T REALLY AFFORD THE HOUSING AROUND HERE BECAUSE IT REALLY IS EXPENSIVE.>>WHEN YOU REQUIRE 20% TO BE SET ASIDE, THAT PEOPLE THAT WORK IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, PEOPLE THAT ARE PUSHING THE WHEELCHAIRS, ACTING AS NURSE’S AIDS, WILL BE ABLE TO LIVE IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOODS AS THE DOCTORS AND NURSES.>>Reporter: IF YOU DON’T LIVE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, THAT’S OKAY.>>ANYONE CAN APPLY.   • Very interesting to hear about. Wonder if some will be held for the nurses, or other medical folks in the VA and surrounding hospitals of the DMC?
