a room to heal is once again taking on a project to help another nonprofit in our community the group with the help of CEFCU is creating a calming sensory room for community options New York Community options provide supports and services to about 500 people with developmental intellectual and other disabilities in the Binghamton area today volunteers began outfitting a small room in their State Street offices with an optic carpet optic ropes a bubble tube mirrors and a projector the executive director Amanda Rick says the room will be a welcome break for clients from the stress of daily activities we’ve been wanting to do this for many years and we’ve never really had the room available and so once we have the room available we were pushing forward and it just so happened that we put in for this at the same time we were getting ready to do it ourselves CEFCU provided the funding for the items purchase for the room and Philbin painting prepped the room for its renovation this is a room to heels 10th community project others included rooms at Wilson and Lourdes hospitals and the Family and Children’s Society for more information go to aroomtoheal.net
