EUCognition | European Society for Cognitive Systems

we need robots that can work with us and Rescue systems that can adapt to the environment we want driverless cars that anticipate the need to act intelligent spaces that learn from experience and robotic hands that can deal with the unexpected that's why we build cognitive systems intelligent machines that can make sense of situations they have never encountered before they can't be pre-programmed completely they need cognitive capacities such as perception memory anticipation learning and development the European cognitive systems research community is changing the way we understand natural systems and build artificial ones we research cognition and build intelligent adaptive systems that can serve Society in many different ways many scientific disciplines share the mission of understanding and building cognitive systems but every research activity works on parts of the whole solution we aim at integrating all this research and help facing the real challenges of artificial cognitive systems in the workplace and at home in hospitals factories and throughout the city the systems we use are becoming cognitive EU cognition European Society for cognitive systems

  •     IF YOUR ROBOTS CAN NOT LEARN HOW TO BUILD A BETTER ROBOT THAN THE NEW ASIMO THEN IT WILL MEAN THAT THEY HAVE COGNITIVE PROBLEMS :: BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE :: THE CASE IS THAT THEY ARE NOT COGNITIVE BUT ARTIFICIAL NOT SO INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS :: AND THIS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR THE MOMENT ::: IF YOU WANT TO CALL A SYSTEM CONIGITIVE YOU NEED TO SHOW SOMETHING BETTER THAN A FEW TOYS AND SOME INDUSTRIAL ROBOTS

  • The EUCognition network continues after the end of the EUCogIII project (31.12.2014) under the new "European Society for Cognitive Systems”
