LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS. EACH AGENCY SAYS OVER THE PAST YEAR DRUG SEIZURES HAVE GONE UP. CAPTAIN KEVIN HUNTER TELLS US, THERE WAS A 67 PERCENT INCREASE IN MARIJUANA BUSTS, 35 PERCENT IN COCAINE, 27 IN METH AND A 55 PERCENT IN HEROIN SEIZURES. COUNCIL PRESIDENT JOHN CRAWFORD ALSO PRESENTED A NEW SECURITY MEASURE AT THE MEETING. HE BELIEVES SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS ON PUBLIC PROPERTY WOULD DETER CRIME AND HELP POLICE IN THEIR INVESTIGATIONS.
