muay thai kickboxing? can any1 explain me whats that? is it like combination betwen kickboxing and muay thai?
kickboxing is the western word to say muay thai
here's a good way to check a leg kick, RUN AWAY
i guess ?!!
well in Kickboxing is just predominately punching and kicking in such a way that you bend your leg then extend it in a snap motion, Muay Thai you have punches elbows knees legs you step forward at an angle and chop through your opponent like an axe thus creating more power in the kick. And also to remember Thai Fighters stance is a lot wide than a boxer or kickboxers.
mini ERNESTO HOOST
blocking a muay thai kick to the head with your hand? r u fucking retarded? He'll fucking break every bone in your hand. If he goes for your head you gotta dodge it.
I may be a novice martial artist but to instruct people to check a kick shin to shin is crazy. If you fight someone bigger than you who can kick harder and or has more dense bones than you do there is a good chance you will break your shin bone. By pointing your toes up you flex the side of the calf muscle and this is where you make the check. The technique is almost identical to how he demonstrated but the impact is slightly off to the side of the the bone and hits the muscle not the bone. We practiced this very situation in class tonight and my instructor was very clear in that bone on bone contact is wrong, I train in free style combat that takes elements of Muay Thai, Krav Maga and Filipino styles.
Anderson silva dislike this video!
You must have get here because of silva vs weiderman 2 fight
UFC 168 brought me here
Chris Weidman watched this video no doubt
instead of shin to shin. silva's shin went to weidman's knee. LOL. Hope he recovers from this. will take long tho.
ERROR! LA POSICION DE EL PIE ESTA MAL, TU PIE DEBE APUNTAR HACIA ABAJO PUES PUEDEN PATEARTE LOS DEDOS Y FRACTURARLOS…
Oh that must be weidmans coach!
so many noobs commenting on this video.this video is CORRECT technique, the shin bone is solid and can take such a strike if the technique is performed correctly.james court your incorrect im afraid, thai stance is very upright and not as half as wide as boxers stance, otherwise the front leg would be a lamb to a slaughter for kicks.
Shin to shin? Ouch!
he looks like Khalid Fouhami !!! lol
Checking kicks and going shin to shin hurts the KICKER much more than the defender. Even with shin pads on, it is not fun to throw a hard leg kick and get checked (especially if you happen to connect with someone's flexed knee I.E. Anderson Silva). I usually opt for raising my foot a few inches off the ground, any more than that and you can run into someone going UNDER your raised foot and attacking your back leg. Go watch the old Ernesto Hoost highlight video if you want to learn how to set up your low kick with punches so you're less likely to get checked!
other guy looks like dos anjos
I think it hurt less to check it with the bone above the shin beneath the knee
would checking work against van damme from bloodsport who was breaking palm trees with his leg?
i feel kinda scared when i practice checking
How do i tag the Diaz brothers so they can watch this?
i been told standing in boxing stances is one of the worst stances for leg checking is this true
dang won't that break your own shin? That's gotta hurt both fighters. lol
Nice drill for it, thanks
Shin to shin hurts a lot.
do you flex your thighs for those leg kicks?
Wow literally came here to see if I was doing it right and I see my professor in the video. Joey Hernandez on the right I train under him.
Using this method if your opponent has harder shin bone it's better to eat the leg kick.
Please how can I tag Nate Diaz ?
We use to call those bone blocks.
Wouldn’t that still hurt you? I mean it’s shin to shin. I’ve seen people break baseball bats with their shins
This is my trainer+me the Th3j35t3r to the Diaz brother's+the UFC
how do you NOT break your leg on a low kick when you know you are likely going to go shin to shin? It can't just be luck. Or is it?
Why do I feel like this technique is dangerous for both, attacker and defender?.
