Old Dominion to open 2018 football season at Liberty University


(BRIAN) A CHANGE OF PLANS REGARDING OLD DOMINION’S FOOTBALL SCHEDULE. TODAY, IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE MONARCHS WILL OPEN UP THE 2018 SEASON ON THE ROAD IN LYNCHBURG AGAINST LIBERTY UNIVERSITY. THE FLAMES ANNOUNCED IN FEBRUARY THAT THEY WILL MOVE UP FROM FCS TO FBS AS AN INDEPENDENT. THIS IS VIDEO OF THE TIME ODU PLAYED LIBERTY WHEN THE MONARCHS WERE TRANSITONING UP FROM FCS TO FBS. TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE GAME, ODU WILL MOVE ITS PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED GAME AGAINST VMI TO LATER IN THE SEASON. ALSO, A ROAD GAME AGAINST VIRGINIA SCHEDULED FOR 2018 WILL NOW BE PLAYED IN 2019. AND IN 2019, WHICH IS WHEN THE NEW STADIUM IS EXPECTED TO BE READY. A HOME GAME AGAINST NORFOLK STATE. ROAD CONTESTS AGAINST TECH AND UVA. AND A HOME DATE WITH EAST CAROLINA.
