Religious Freedom | JDFI Public Policy Video

– The Bible says in Psalm 116:15 that the Lord cares deeply
when His loved ones die. And every day, Christians
around the world, God’s loved ones, are being killed because they proclaim Jesus as Lord. Their lives are precious to God and they need to be precious to us. I’m James Gottry, Vice
President of Public Policy for the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute. We talk a lot about religious
freedom in the United States, and for good reason. People of faith are increasingly told to keep their beliefs to themselves. Young people are walking
away from the church in record numbers. Hopelessness is pervasive in our culture and society is reeling
from fatherlessness, mass shootings, and so much more. But believers in Christ
still have the opportunity to speak truth into their
communities and into this nation. But around the world, many
Christians do not have a voice. Every month, 255 Christians are killed, 104 are abducted, 180
Christian women are raped, sexually harassed, or
forced into marriage, and 66 churches are attacked. 160 Christians are detained
without trial and imprisoned. These are not just statistics. They represent individual
followers of Christ. Husbands, wives, mothers,
fathers, children, and friends. And they have no voice. They need us to be a voice for them. This month, Dr. Dobson
wrote an important update regarding the reality
of religious persecution around the world. And today, I’m asking
you to read his words and to share them with others. This may seem like a small thing. You may think, I’m just one person. I’m just one voice. But if we all raise our voices as one, and if we pray to God to
hear us, we will be heard. Thank you for being a
voice for our brothers and sisters in Christ. I’m James Gottry, and that’s
today’s policy update. Thank you for following
us on social media.
