Sexual Immorality Part 4 – Freedom from sexual sin

Hey, welcome back. This is part 4 in a series called “what does
the Bible teach about sexual immorality”. Are you ready to UNLEARN the lies? Finding freedom from sexual immorality is
a challenge that people often struggle with. Some go to counseling, some try 12 step programs,
some find accountability partners, and some even try hypnosis, but what does the Bible
have to say about finding freedom from sexual sin? Instead of turning to psychology, we need
to look to the Word of God for answers. The first thing we need to do is realize how
wicked our sin is. We have already discussed the fact that sexual
immorality is one of the first things a believer must remove from their life, and we also looked
at a number of Scripture verses that tell us that no sexually immoral person will enter
the Kingdom of God. These two facts alone should cause us to see
how deadly this sin truly is. We also discussed how Balaam told Balak to
send women to seduce Israel away from God, and what lust and looking at pornography does
to your brain. However, if those things haven’t already caused
you to realize just how awful this sin is, then listen to what Paul writes about sexual
sin. “Do you not know that the unrighteous will
not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers,
nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified,
but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God… Now the body is not for sexual immorality
but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body… Do you not know that your bodies are members
of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and
make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!… Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body,
but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple
of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore
glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:9-20 When we sin sexually, we sin against our own
body and thus defile the Temple of the Holy Spirit. We are therefore committing an abomination
in the Temple of God. Once we realize just how terrible our sin
is, the natural response is to fear God because we have defiled His Temple. This is vital because having a proper fear
of the LORD will keep us from sinning anymore. “But the Lord your God you shall fear; and
He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.” – 2 Kings 17:39 “He will fulfill the desire of those who fear
Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.” – Psalm 145:19 “Surely His salvation is near to those who
fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.” – Psalm 85:9 “…work out your own salvation with fear
and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” – Philippians 2:12-13 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved,
let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness
in the fear of God.” – 2 Corinthians 7:1 Did you notice that in all of these verses
it is the fear of God that leads us to salvation? We need the fear of God in our life to save
us from our sin. Those who fear Him will walk in obedience
to His Word, but those who do not fear will be destroyed for their wickedness. “And do not fear those who kill the body but
cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy
both soul and body in Gehenna.” – Matthew 10:28 Why should we fear God? Because He judges the wicked for their sins. The Bible tells us about God’s righteous judgment,
and how the wicked will receive punishment. It also gives us examples of those who have
already experienced such judgment for their immorality. “as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around
them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality
and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of
eternal fire.” – Jude 1:7 “For if God did not spare the angels who sinned,
but cast them down to tartarus and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved
for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people,
a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning
the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them
an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who
was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked… then the Lord knows how to deliver
the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of
judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness… But these, like natural brute beasts made
to be caught and destroyed… and will receive the wages of unrighteousness… having eyes
full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls… They have forsaken the right way and gone
astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness”
– 2 Peter 2:4-15 The fear of God convicts us of sin and causes
us to be sorry for what we have done, and godly sorrow leads to repentance. “Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry,
but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner… For godly sorrow produces repentance leading
to salvation…” – 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 We must repent of our sin and flee from all
forms of sexual immorality. Flee from sin like it is a wild beast trying
to consume you. Flee for your life, because sexual sin will
destroy you. “Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body,
but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.” – 1 Corinthians 6:18 Turn to God and ask that He would grant you
repentance so that you can come to your senses and finally escape the sin you are in bondage
to. “if God perhaps will grant them repentance,
so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the
snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.” – 2 Timothy 2:25-26 Repentance is more than asking for forgiveness,
it is the act of turning away from sin and turning toward God. “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins
which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall
surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed
shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall
live… But when a righteous man turns away from his
righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the
wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall
not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he
has committed, because of them he shall die… Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel,
every one according to his ways,” says the Lord God. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions,
so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions
which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?” – Ezekiel 18:21-31 To repent means to regret what you have done
and to change your mind, and most importantly, it means to stop sinning. This change of mind is vital, especially when
we understand what lust does to our brain. The reason sexual sin is so difficult to get
free from is because it acts like a drug addiction in our brain. When we see or do something that is sexually
stimulating, dopamine and various other chemicals and hormones are released into our brain causing
intense pleasure. This causes an instant addiction to whatever
we are being stimulated by. This addiction is a good thing if we are only
being stimulated by our husband or wife because it deepens the bonds between us. However, it is a huge problem when that stimulation
comes from someone or something other than our spouse. That is why we must renew our mind, and cleanse
it from all unrighteousness. “This I say, therefore, and testify in the
Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility
of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of
God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who,
being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness
with greediness… put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put
on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” – Ephesians 4:17-24 It is necessary that we renew our mind because
the carnal mind is an enemy of God. “Because the carnal mind is enmity against
God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.” – Romans 8:7 We cannot claim to know God if we are still
walking in sin. Those who abide in Yeshua no longer walk in
the lust of the flesh, because we have been set free from sin. In fact, the Bible says that if we continue
walking in sin we are children of the devil, not children of God. “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness,
and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take
away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known
Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous,
just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil
has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin,
for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children
of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor
is he who does not love his brother.” – 1 John 3:4-10 When we have a renewed mind we no longer walk
in sin, and that is when we are able to know the will of God and do what pleases Him. “And do not be conformed to this world, but
be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable
and perfect will of God.” – Romans 12:2 So, how do we renew our mind? First, we need to remove all of the garbage
that we have been putting in our head. Cut off every source of sexual immorality
that you can. For example, stop watching tv and movies that
contain sexual material and stop listening to music and reading books or magazines that
contain such things. How can you have a clean mind if you are constantly
filling it with immoral thoughts? The next thing you need to do is start filling
your mind with the Word of God. Meditate on God’s Word day and night, let
it consume your thoughts. Stop filling your mind with earthly things,
and keep your focus on Yeshua and the things that will please Him. “Set your mind on things above, not on things
on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with
Christ in God… Therefore put to death your members which
are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which
is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is
coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived
in them.” – Colossians 3:2-7 We are told to meditate on the Scriptures
day and night so that we will live according to what it says. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from
your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according
to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous,
and then you will have good success.” – Joshua 1:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true,
whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever
things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if
there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.” – Philippians 4:8 To have a renewed mind, we must cleanse our
mind with the Word of God. We are sanctified by washing our mind in the
water of His Word. “that He might sanctify and cleanse her with
the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church,
not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” – Ephesians 5:26-27 If you want to defeat sin, then you must starve
your flesh and feed your spirit. Starving your flesh requires fasting from
the things that feed your flesh. Therefore, I challenge you to stop watching
tv and movies that feed the flesh, stop listening to music that does not glorify God, and stop
reading books or magazines that do not honor God. And as you fast from these things, fill your
mind with the Word of God. When you fear God, repent, and cleanse your
mind you will find freedom from sexual sin. I hope this teaching has opened your eyes
to the serious nature of sexual immorality, and I pray that it will help you break free
from the bondage of sexual sin in your own life. Thanks for watching this video. Post your questions and comments below. If you liked this video, give it a thumbs

  • Everytime I'm free from sexual sin for a while I find myself happy and free, but everytime im in it, all I feel is filth and complete bondage, broken, and separated. I really want to be free from this filth. God has been leading me to fast and kill the flesh. Please pray for me concerning my deliverance from this sin. Thanks for the video!

  • Lust is one of the corporate sins of America; fasting and intercessory prayer between now and the elections for our nation's (individual by individual) repentance and turning back to Him may also lead to a reprieve from His judgment in the form of WWIII, which is more than just plausible. Our nation is approaching a crossroads; now is the time for all good countrymen to come to the aid of their country and pray, and fast – we're stewards to the nation He places us in, we have responsibilities and obligations to act righteously be it in the public square or in our prayer closets; our faith and trust is not in America, but in Him and we have a duty to pray for the nation that each one of us has had a hand in forming to one degree or another. It is an earthly, moral responsibility to vote as good stewards and our heavenly responsibility to pray and fast. Elohim Bless and heal our land, forgive us, and lead us in Your way to repentance, Teshuva. Amen!

  • I think we should avoid TV and movies altogether because they put us in a trace and shutoff the frontal lobe. Anton Levey said TV is the family alter.

  • Great teaching Lex!! Praising Abba that when He called me out from the system, He took me & my children off from all tv shows and movies. Sadly even commercials are sexual in every way. Praying for those who are struggling in this area of their lives. May Y'shua freed them and that the Truth will set them free indeed!

  • Food for thought… One thing to consider about how repentance is granted. Contrasting to that, e.g. Pharaoh was not given room for repentance, etc. It seems that repentance is given as a gift. The definition states it's when we have "a change of mind". So, it does not state that when we change our own mind. A scriptural comparison and word study on this topic would be very good. Relating, grace is (according to Strong's) the "Divine influence upon our mind/heart AND its reflection in our life". This also is given, just like repentance. However, it seems this goes in hand with repentance; repentance to stop sinning and grace to do what's right. This is my reflection and obviously not in depth. However, I have studied this out, I just don't have my notes with me at the moment.

  • I am having issues with my flesh, I been doing what you are saying, and trying my best in repentance, and gotten away from Porn, and sexual things on the computer and tv and such. I been still having issues with masturbation, and spiritual sex, and feeling like I am growing female body parts, (I am a man), and I been trying to avoid Masturbation with all cost, I been praying about this, and been wondering why I been feeling these certain things. I am trying to think in the Spirit and not in the Flesh, and I have faith and believe and all that, but it still manages to happen, and I try to ignore the arousal I feel. I am not imagining nude women, or imagining lustful things really. I do not want to go to Hell for this. In contrast the way I used to be was worse than I am now, thank God, but still this issue has been a thorn in my side.

  • Love the videos. Very informative and thank you for the knowledge and understanding especially on this crucial subject of sexual immorality. My only thought is….what about people who live in warmer climate cities? Places where you wear less clothing…bathing suits on the beach…ect. ? Are these women and men in sin by showing their shape?

  • What did Paul mean when he said we are from the law of sin and death? Does mean we can now sin if we want? The thing about it is we are always something we shouldn't . Jesus said we love one another as he has loved us. We are not to do each other wrong. Love works no ill to his neighbor.

  • I have a question that I need opinions on.
If one of your children is living in fornication how do you apply 1 Corinthians 5:11 apply to you?

"But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat."

Should you have nothing to do with your child who is living in this way?

  • I'm definitely going to fast from many things and lately God has been putting on my heart to fast from social media. Please pray me as I know this is going to be a difficult task!

  • if God is not happy with Spiritual idolatry and fornication then the question must be asked why would he be happy with us doing it among ourselves. surely that would be double standard?

  • I am so screwed. I've nearly stopped going to church I've given up giving I realise I am doomed. whatever Yeshua died 4 it definitely wasn't for me and me believing it was I'm just deceiving myself. No wonder I felt I was doing something wrong. a leopard can't change Its Spots same as a man cannot change his nature a belief in Yeshua is futile. I envy you Lex because I will never get it right like you have. Say hello to YeHoVah for me as I am me sure you will see him as I will not

  • Praise the name of the Lord!! He alone is Worthy to receive honor and glory through Christ Jesus….we are more than conquerors through Christ who gives us strength!

  • Brother. You've used the word "fear" in a few scriptures. In what way is fear different in the versus that you've used compared to when the Lord and his angels speaks to his people asking to them to not be afraid or do not "fear". I look forward to your response. Awesome video lessons by the way. Thank you for sharing this teaching.

  • I dont like to sleep sometimes because i have dreams of sexual morality. I feel remorseful and ashamed. Now that i have been pointed to these scriptures, i can write them down and post them on my wall to read so the light of my body that is my eye, my whole body shall be full Of light and not of darkness from an evil eye.
Peace and grace and strength be upon everyone who is seeking to break from this sickness of a sin by seeking salvation in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

  • Scripture also says to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, but yet we are supposed to obey his commandments out of fear from him? How do you love God while also constantly being afraid of him? I'm not trying to argue, just want to get a better understanding

  • So how does a single guy find a good woman after coming to Christ? It’s a lonely world when you’re coming to Christ on your own 😕

  • Awesome series! I share with my 16 and a half year old son Gabriel.
This is why we thank you for your work for your videos and for your prayers Lex-

  • How can you prevent this automatic dopamine reaction when it's out in your world everywhere. How can you deal with the arousal that you do not welcome. please pray for me!

  • Im gonna go out on a limb here, and say I am a homosexual, I have been all my life. I've been spit on, shunned, beat up, push around, yelled at… the list goes on and on… BUT I am not one who goes for " itchy ears syndrome" as in I will not go to the next video and look for something more appealing to me. BUT ill tell you one thing, I pray every day in my closet, in my car, at work, ALL the time. I worship God everyday and follow the Sabbath guidelines. It wasnt till recently that I was in my closet praying. I asked God to make me into someone who is not a homosexual, someone who is not heterosexual either, I asked him to make me into someone who followed him and would rather dedicate all my life, love, and hopes in Jesus. That night I had a dream, I was floating in a fetal position in a room, I somehow awoke, I opened my eyes and saw others all around me in same manner but they were all asleep, A huge light came on in the room, so I closed my eyes and try to pretend I was still asleep like the others, I felt a snag of my arm, someone grabbed it. I saw a man approaching me, his face was like the sun, I could make no features out of it but I saw some long curly hair wisping in the light as it made little light shadows. I looked more at him below the light, he was in a white robe with a dark crimson over coat. I saw in his hand he had a knife that was glowing like the hue of the full moon. I was made to lay down on some rocks that looked like an alter, I laid back, I felt a pinch over my chest, and I put my hand on the pinch but the knife went through my hand. I laid my head back and saw a bunch of people wailing and crying with holes where their heart was, The knife went into my chest I felt blood run down my neck and on my face, thinking I was dead, but yet I was still breathing and alive. I woke up after that. It wasnt till I was watching this video segment that it made more sense . The people I saw who removed their heart but did not receive a new heart, or new spirit within them. Me putting my hand over the knife was my flesh being not ready for what I had just asked God to do, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. I dont see this as a failure, I see this as God is listening to everyone's prayer, no matter what you ask, he remembers it in prayer because I have asked him several times when I was younger for the same thing! In this dream, it showed me he was with me even in the womb. I believe God is working with me and is not giving up on me, esp someone who asks of what I did. I still hope and pray my flesh will fail and the spirit be stronger. Now I expect to get yelled at and cussed at on here for this… this is Youtube.. lol BUT I would want everyone to know, you do not know anyone's battles who say they are homosexual. You dont see what I am doing as I mentioned above, you just see the sin. Everyone has fallen short, we should be helping others be free of sin not culling them to their death. By doing these things, ya'll are making it look impossible for homosexuals to be free. Dont give up, keep on praying, So anyway, there you go. God Bless. PS Lex, Keep doing what your doing, it is helping and it does matter! Thank You!

  • Wait: You are saved by Grace through Faith alone according to my Bible. You're preaching that salvation lies in doing good works. @ 3:38 You say "fear of God leads to salvation" … I don't know what Bible you're reading, but nothing man does can save him. Only faith in Jesus and His grace. I'm afraid that I will no longer watch your videos due to the heresies—anti-biblical teachings you're spreading. If man was able to keep the commandments of God, then why did Jesus come to die? For nothing? No, He came to fulfill the laws so that we might be saved through Christ, NOT our works. You my friend are preaching the same as the scribes and Pharisees and the roman catholic church. You should be very careful what you preach, for God judges those who preach worse than the rest. If you lead people astray…man, I don't want to be you. I have liked your videos up until I started picking up on these subtle heresies. I hope you come right and admit you're wrong. Yes, we should NOT sin. But keeping the law does not save, that's the reason Jesus came and willingly laid His life down for us, so that we can be saved through faith and grace alone. You should re-read your Bible and discard your heresies and apologize to those who you've been teaching false doctrines.

  • Also, if man could keep the commandments of God, why is the Old Testament full of sacrifices and confessions of sin? No man can be sinless. Paul himself wrote: "For the good that I would, I do not: but the euill which I would not, that I doe." Read Romans 7 … Any man that says he is without sin makes God a liar—that is blasphemy. And if you think reverting your immoral thoughts is going to earn you brownie points with God, then remember that sin is even just in thought. This is WHY we NEED grace. People should be very scared of your teaching. The lies are so subtle it's almost impossible to catch. I hope that you're unaware of what you're doing instead of doing it on purpose. Either way, I truly hope you come back to the right path.

  • Ezekiel 18 as a whole is a scary chapter. It basically says that it's all up to you. If you sin, you die. If you repent you live. If you backslide, you die. Forgiveness of sins is borne out of repentance and practical righteousness, not the atonement of another. In it, God says, "Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, everyone according to his ways… Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin" (Ezekiel 18:20).

Basically, it's all on YOU to save yourself. Sin and die, or repent and be saved. But if you backslide, you still die.

  • 3:58 "Fear Him who is able to destroy both body and soul", seriously? So God purposely destroys body and soul in hell? I think you might want to rethink that verse, or find a better translation, or read a better interpretation under the authority of the original Christian tradition. I don't think you understand difference between "fear" and "fear of God".

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him [not capitalized] which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." King James version of the same verse.

"The body of a man can be killed by anyone,
but the soul cannot be killed except by sin. Sin
is the only destroyer of the soul. Fear thus the sin
that can both body and soul bind in hell. The man
himself decides which he will partake of: the eternal
    life or damnation."

Interpretation of the same verse by st. Justin of Celije.

  • I think i've seen your videos around for a while and never clicked on one. I was hesitant to watch one that was in my queue today. I went ahead and watched it and immediately i'm hooked on your channel. Nothing better than the cold, hard truth. Thank you. You honor God.

  • It feels like I'm trapped in a world full of soft porn, most of everything on T.V. and music has a sexual reference of some kind. Sexual innuendo even in children's movies and shows. I had a job I really liked , but was constantly involved in sexual jokes and humor, just felt like my foolishness was taking me further away from God. I have and still struggle with a lot of thing's, I do and say thing's constantly, and in return I question myself why am I the way that I am and other's
