THE CENTER IS LOCATED OFF THOMAS LANGSTON NEAR MEMORIAL DRIVE. BUT PEOPLE FROM THROUGHOUT THE AREA WORK THERE. THE CITY OF GREENVILLE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE MOVE AT NOON. TODAY… MAYOR P-J CONNELLY ANNOUCED HIS DISAPPROVAL OF THE DECISION. EVEN STATING THE CITY MIGHT STOP ALL BUSINESS WITH WELLS FARGO. “that is something that we will evaluate as time goes on and we will see what’s best for the city. We want to make sure we are going to be helping local businesses that are going to be bringing jobs to our community and are employing people. Look the main thing is we want people to be well employed in our community and that is something we are going to look at as time goes on. But we are very, very disappointed that we are going to lose 600 jobs in our community.” CONNELLY SAYS THAT HE HEARD FROM SEVERAL EMPLOYEES OF THE CENTER TODAY. MANY OF THEM WERE UPSET… SOME TELLING HIM THEY WERE BLIND-SIDED BY THE ANNOUNCEMENT. CONNELLY ADDED EMPLOYEE’S HE HEARD FROM WERE OFFERED SEVERANCE PACKAGES.
